ARGUS and Year 2000

Fortunately, Electric Ephemeris always made a point out of using 4 digits for year input.

Therefore Argus and PCA for DOS will run as usual, also in the new millenium.

However, the zonetables are time limited till the 31/12 2000. Entering data after this year will produce a message, telling that daylight saving time is not automatically calculated, and the timezone will default to non-daylight saving time.

Revision 23 of Argus, which should be ready before the end of 1999 automatically extrapolates the existing daylight saving time info from 1996-2000 onwards. So if you update to this revision, the problem will disappear. We will provide a download of this revision for existing customers on our download page.

Of course no software can foresee, if some countries should change their daylight saving time rules in the future. We will watch out for this and try to provide the necessary update information.
